Plan of expanding a SMT line for PSI

 

With the rapid economic development and industrial fierce competition which bring about seller's market turn on buyer’s market. Demanding for personalized products is growing. The traditional of “Low mix and High volume" model of production is gradually conversion to the “High Mix and Low Volume". This change will make challenge in the electronic manufacturing and electronic processing. The SMT production will become challenge. For example, frequent changing of production line, Ineffective loss of working hours and low efficiency ... etc.

Besides, it is short life cycle of electronic products and introduces new products faster than ever, now. The newest electronic products are multi-functional, high performance, high quality, high density and miniaturization. Therefore, the production plant requires high precision of equipment, which can perform the duties well.

In order to correspond to high density of miniaturization products and small amount of variety for the pattern of production line that transfer frequently. It will need to consider the placement of high precision, good reliability, rapid line changing with strong flexibility of SMT equipment.

To consider the industrial changes, Our China facility added a new SMT line and expended our SMT capacities to 4 SMT lines. Configuration of the new line is as following:

  1. Automatic solder paste printer__Panasonic-SPF
  2. High speed Mounter __Panasonic-BM123
  3. Multi-functional SMT __Panasonic-MSF
  4. Nitrogen (N2) reflow __HELLER-1800

    Characteristics of device are as follows:

    1. Mount parts can be wide: 0201mm ~ L55mm * W55mm, BGA ....
      The accuracy of placement: Chip ± 50um, QFP ± 30um
    2. To exchange the feeding group at one time by feeding cart. It can fast switching between different models and replacement tape in operation. It is non-stop and continuous to production.
    3. The feeders can share of the BM123 and MSF machine (High speed mounter). It also can produce various products in order to achieve flexibility and balance, and improve the equipment utilization.
    4. The body of device is small, space-saving, and flexible scheduling.

    Conclusion:
    Try to do our best, make the process mature and keep progress is PSI’s basic opinion. We’ll raise our capabilities and capacities continuously, fully understand the functions, performance and processes of SMT line. To do the production with strict process control prevents the possibilities of defects and increase the first yield. At the same time, reduce rate of rework and repair. Through our hard and intelligent efforts, the quality level will be raised continuously, more efficiency and cost reduction. To satisfied the requirement of customers and get the win-win situation between PSI and customers.
